Frank Hill's specimen number LYN 16909 is linked to two PDD specimens, PDD 69490 and PDD 70680.
PDD 69490 comprises dried plant material and has fruiting bodies typical of Coleophoma camelliae. The protologue of Coleophoma camelliae cites the dried culture CBS H-22474 as the holotype (although Frank Hill's LYN 16909 number is not cited, this number is recorded in CBS files, email from Ewald Groenewald, 9 March 2017) and ex-type culture CBS 101376. The ex-type culture was probably grown from this PDD specimen.
