dry apothecia with black recptacle ornamented with broad, low ridges, black hym. yellow-Red diffusing into KOH. Paraphyses difficult to see, encrusted with rediish materia, seem to be irregularly swollen. Asci subclavate, slight thickening at rounded apex, ?J-, croziers; Ascospores allantoid (but quite gently curved, 5.5-6 x 1.5 µm
