Public Note:
There are two phylogenetic sister species of tree-fern inhabiting Erioscyphella with large, stipitate, white, hairy apothecia that have a Cyathicula-like excipular anatomy.
Species 1 forms the clade that includes PDD 116727, has ascospores about 16-18 x 3.5-4.5 μ. This species occurs also in Australia.
Species 2 forms the clade that includes PDD 116756, has ascospores about 8-10 x 2 μ.
