In a clade with Amylocarpus plus several Northern Hemisphere Hymenoscyphus spp. (e.g. H. mentae, H.peruni, H.repandus, H.aurantiacus), phylogenetically distinct from Hymenoscyphus s.s. (e.g. H. fructigenus).
