Specimen notes
Public Note:
The material is uniformly dark brown. The spores are punctate, without plage or epispore. No cystidia observed. Galerina/Gymnopilus. Given the original identification as F. chrystotricha I will assume that colours have darkened considerably over the years and this is a Gymnopilus, although with large spores. It is puzzling how this collection and PDD58871 represent Colenso material reported to be present at Kew and PDD. I can only assume the collections were split.
