Specimen notes
Public Note:
cf Leotiaceae sp. on Knightia excelsa fallen leaves. Specimens include PDD 46872, 44808, 44805, 54845 89251 (ITS sequence available as D2002), 54856, 55382.
ITS resolves what appears to be a genus level clade with a poorly supported sister relationship to Marthamycetaceae. There are three species, on recently dead leaves of Knightia, of Phormium, and of Dracophyllum respectively. All three species share apothecia remaining partially immersed in host tissue, poorly developed receptacle with white crystals, asci with thick, J- apex. Ex Phormium species with ITS (AK1150 = PDD 88467); ex Dracophyllum species with ITS (ICMP23116 = PDD 112201 = D2493).
