Public Note:
PILEUS: 4 cm diam., infundibuliform, glabrous, viscid and sticky when wet, no indications of velar remnants, creamy-white with brownish spots in places, Margins faintly radiately ridged and grooved for up to 7 mm from edges. GILLS; pallid creamy white, rather thick, to 6 mm deep, not discoloured at maturity, lamellae simple or as frequently forked ulose to stipe, not forked near margins, lamellulae absent. STIPE: 3 cm long, equal, 1 cm diam., solid, dry, annulus absent, velar remnants absent, finely felted and matte, innately stretched-reticulated, white. Flesh white, firm to chambered, unchanging. CONTEXT OF PILEUS: white, firm, unchanging. SMELL: TASTE: gills and context not distinctive , CHEMICAL CHARACTERS: Formalin on context - no reaction. Phenol on context - slowly vinaceous but not as deep as usual. FeS04 on context - rapidly pinkish KOH and NH40H on pileus and context - no reactions. HABITAT: solitary under Leptospermum ericoides, Aucklandm Titirangi, Atkinson Park, 11/4/67, Coll. R.F.R. McNabb.
