PILEUS; 5.5 cm diam., shallow-infundibuliform, viscid and rather sticky in wet weather, glabrous, rather innately pruinose, no indications ofi velar remnants, sordid white, pallid creamy white, with pallid ochraceous-brown spots and stains in places. Margins very faintly radially marked for up to 7 mm from edges but markings not clearly defined in parts of the pileus. GILLS: moderately crowded, mod. thick, brittle, pallid dreamy white to pallid cream, not discoloured, lamellae simple or more often forked close to stipe, not forked near margins, lamellulae absent, to 5 mm deep. STIPE: 5 cm Long, more or less equal., 1 cm diam., dry, annulus absent, no indications of velar remnants, fibrous, longitudinally innately fibrous-fibrills white to very pallid creamy white, base slightly brownish; Flesh firm, white unchanging rather chambered. SMELL not noted; TASTE: Gills and context not distinctive SPORE PRINT: Crawshay B when fresh. CHEMICAL REACTIONS: Formalin on context - n.r. Phenol - slowly deep red vinaceous. FeSO4 - immediately dull salmon pink, Guiacol on stipe base immediately faint pink, not intensifying with time. KOH on pileus and context - n.r. NH4OH on pileus and context - n.r. HABITAT: solitary under Lepto'spermum scoparium, Auckland, Riverhead State Forest, 15/5/67, Coll. R.F.R. McNabb.
