PILEUS: 4-7.5 cm diam., convex, becoming infundibuliform, glabrous, viscid, n0 indications of velar remnants, pallid creamy white to dark cream (c 3A4), somtimes spotted with dull ochraceous-brown. Margins faintly radially ridged and grooved for 1-1.5 cm from margin edge in old fructs, not conspicuously so thin. GILLS; pallid creamy white to pallid cream, medium thickness, brittle, moderately crowded, lamellae simple or as often forked close to stipe, not forked near margins, lamellulae very occasionally present but in no particular sequence, to 8 mm deep, not discoloured with age. STIPE; 4-6 mm long, more or less equal, 1.2-1.4 cm diam., solid, annulus absent no indications of velar remnants, glabrous, innately longitudinally fibrous, pure white or with pallid brownish stains. Flesh white, firm, unchanging. CONTEXT OF PILEUS: white, firm, unchanging. SMEL&: TASTE: context and gills not distinctive. SPORE PRINT: Crawshay B-C when fresh. CHEMICAL REACTIONS: Formalin on context - no reaction Phenol on context - slowly deep red, vinaceous. FeS04 on context - rapidly salmon pink KOH on pileus - darkening in brownish areas KOH on context - no reaction. NH40H on pileus and context - no reaction. HABITAT: Solitary or in paits under Leptospermum ericoides, Auckland, Titirangi, Atkinson Park, 7/3/67, Coll. R.F.R. McNabb.
