Specimen notes
Public Note:
Isotype. Small collection in poor condition, most of the apothecia either immature or broken along the stipe. Apothecia develop in gregarious groups on more or less intact bark on fallen wood. Apothecia tiny, translucent-brown, glabrous, stipitate in gregarious groups. Have the appearance of a Crocicreas. Excipulum (squash) difficult to see clearly because of condition of the material, but gelatinous in places, with hyphae widely spaced in dense gel matrix. Asci about 60-70 x 6 µm. Ascospores 5.5-6.5 x 3 µm, ovate, radially symmetrical, hyaline, 0-septate. Paraphyses quite broad, 2.5-3 µm diam., undifferentiated to the rounded apex.
