49. As Stemonitis flavogenita Jahn. There is still some question as to what S. flavogenita is but I do not think this represents that species. The spores are faintly banded-reticulate which suggest S. hyperopta Meylan, but the long stem and the complete surface net suggest S. virginiensis Rex. The two species intergrade and may have to be united under Rex's name, which is the older. However, on the basis of the spore characters, I should refer this collection to S. hyperopta.
