Macroscopically L. agathidis-like but microscopically differs with paraphyses swollen at apex. Ascospore sheaths similar to L. agathidis, with large, loose cap at bottom of spore, unclear whether there is an apical sheath. PDD 121163, PDD 122850 and PDD 122851 are the same species. Only a few of the Hawaiian specimens sequences or examined microscopically, but others filed in PDD as L. clusiae or L. agathidis may be that same.
