Pileus 8-20 mm diam x 4-7 mm high, convex becoming plano-convex, dark chestnut brown, dry, with scattered pale cream fine scales. Lamellae dull pale brown. Annulus robust, pale cream, distinctly striate on upper surface, smooth lower, cottony. Stipe 2-5 mm diam x 32-44 mm long, central, robust tapering slightly to apex, pale cream.
