Specimen notes
Public Note:
Based on ITS alone, it is close to what people from China have been calling Hymenochaete separabilis in GenBank. This species was described from Africa in 1981, and these may or may not be good identifications. The Chinese specimens vary amongst themselves a bit, with about a 98.5% match, the NZ specimen in the same kind of range.
P.R. Johnston, 2021
Public Note:
Fairly long patches of brown crust, cracking in tessellated pattern, edges orange; associated Leptodoptera ?Sagephora sp. nov. (based on previous rearing)
