pores blueing, flesh reddening. Context white, brownish to base. Note yellow at stipe base which is mentioned for X. lentispitatus by McNabb but not in Steneson's original. She mentions that character for B. paradisiacus which has a black cap like this. , but that has the cap colouration of X. squamulosusu and not X. scabripes. The caps dry paler and the yellow mycelium dries very yellow, so then indistunguishable from squamulosus - if this is that sp.
