small tiered bracket on beech, tough, no internal layering, pore layer thin, dark brown in KOH, bruising brown, taste mushroomy [JAC:31/10/2023] I have currently rejected the use of Nothonotus because phylogenies place it within the Inonotus clade and there is no good reason to separate this taxon.
