Public Note:
No F. truncata near here. Mycelium at stem base pale yellow. [JAC:19/08/2022] This is not the same as previous collections identified as P. nz so we do have at least 2 species. I'm not sure which is the real version. From the top and slice this remarkebly similar to X. squamulosus wth the same finely velvety brown cap and same stipe features. Comparative photos taken of the two. Similarities include the same slight greenining of the white context on bruising/exposure. Both dark in NH4OH although this shows the stronger
