Specimen notes
Public Note:
Fallen from old red beech at the end of their lives. The old dead/ding trees dominated by Laetiporus and Ganoderma. The fruitbodies of Laatiporus presumably reach maturity and then absorb lots of water, become heavy, and fall, still in a reasonably fresh state, to release spores.
