Specimen notes
Public Note:
growing on leaves under an oak with sooty mold - presumably depositing honeydew. This is obviously Atichia but also obviously not the same as that on indigenous hosts in native habitats. This is much more robust. This calls into question the broad synonymy around species placed in Atichia and Seuratia. Atichia type = A. mosigii with a type on European conifers (as A. glomerulosa). Seuratia type S. coffeicola on coffee = S. millardeti type on Syzigium Java. Probably multiple species here with the native NZ taxon undescribed as far as I can tell from the synonymy. Australia has a species described from Pittosporaceae. Note presence of small free structures which apparently are 'propgula'.
