Specimen notes
Public Note:
spiky colonies on thin branches & stems. Hyphae not toruloid, rough walled, hyphae anastomosing, with Hormisciomyces state (seen easily on patches with stereo). Occasional attached mucronate conidia. At the base of the spikes is another colony of toruloid hyphae - Ophiocapnocomma? Blast says near Amphosoma (unlikley orbiliaceae) or possibly Asterinales with nearly no ITS sequences. Needs LSU. [JAC:27/10/2022] I now have multiple Euantennarias that come out in the orbiliomycetes, near Amphosoma and Retiarius, i.e. resin/pollen associates and with Trinacrium-like conidia. Euantennaria as a name is not appropriate for these. If the type is E. tropicola, but note that E. mucronata for Hughes had non orbiliaceus ascoma/ascospores. What is going on here? Note JAC16746 as E. pacifica is in the Eurotiales.
