Specimen notes
Public Note:
No smell, waxy, semi-peeling. Spores hyaline, broadly ellipsoid 4um long. Occasional short blunt encrusted hyaline cystidia with refractive walls. Encrustation dissolving in alkali & Melzers. Hyphae with large clamps, dimitic. Sequence same as CBS deposit under this name. This is not Amylocorticiales (Ceraceomyces tessulatus) but belongs in the Stereales. Probably better to retain as Cunningham's Peniophora cerebrosus.
