Public Note:
this is the second species of Aseroe 93% similarity - 38bp difference across ITS. Immature specimen slicing show no sign of a central disk in the throat. There is just a central glob of gleba that separates at the throat as the frb expands. The second species needs examining similarly. [JAC:20/07/2023] Note the name Aseroe hookeri has a New Zealand type. It is possible that collections from native buch are A. hookeri and those from urban areas are introduced A. rubra.
