Public Note:
hoof-like and reflexed down the bark. With obvious annual deep growth bands in the pores when cut. Pores 6 per mm. Pleasant smell. Surface black in KOH. No seta. Tissue dimitic, deeply dextrinoid. Clamps not observed, but then no septa seen either. Spores hyaline 12 x 6um, not dextrinoid. Does not fit Fomitiporia.
