Specimen notes
Public Note:
[WMD] This cup fungus was observed growing on soil and had a smooth tan-brown upper surface and a paler gelatinous undersurface. The larger mature cup had an irregular margin and the upper coloured surface had been grazed. The larger fruit body was 3 cm in diameter and the smaller cups were 6-8 mm in diameter. Remnant mature coastal broadleaf forest. Same as https://inaturalist.nz/observations/1081604. Tips of asci bluing" keys out to Peziza. Spores at maturity are roughened and with apicula (these are not visible on immature spores). Asci up to about 340 x 17 u, spores up to about 23 x 11 u (incl. apicula), paraphyses have a swollen tip. [JAC] spores too apiculate for 'Rotokuru' and lack of violaceous colours. I+ so not Tarzetta.
