Public Note:
[NS ]Cortinarius (dark, thick veil) . Clustered from soil, in duff under beech . Cap 29-42 mm across, dry, with appressed fibrils over whole cap young, soon breaking up into small patches and scales. Stipe 35-54 mm across, 5-9 mm thick at apex, base bulbous, staining brown when handled, cortina thick, tan, becoming dark brown and appressed to stipe, odor and taste indistinct, KOH black on cap, slight stipe rxn, no flesh rxn.
