[NS] Scattered in duff under beech . Cap 35-41 mm across, with scattered blackish flattened warts, gills with black marginate edges, stipe 66-85 mm long, 5.5-6.5 mm thick at apex, enlarging downward, base with rounded bulb, 16-18 mm across, with black fibrils, in a chevron-like pattern, partial veil forming a collapsed ring near stipe apex, flesh grayish in cap, off-white to pale gray in stipe, stipe stuffed, or with hollow core, odor and taste indistinct.
