[NS ]Cortinarius (dark, purple staining. scattered in troops under Kunzea robusta . Cap 21-48 mm across, sticky to dry, stipe 48-61 mm long, 5-6 m thick at apex, base swollen to elongate bulbous, staining purple when damaged, stipe stuffed when young, hollow in age, odor and taste indistinct, KOH dark brown on cap brownish on stipe.
