[NS] Scattered in moss, under tea tree and beech .Clustered of overlapping caps, from a single stipe, 41-132 mm across, surface wrinkled, glabrous, to appressed-fibrillose, growing margin pinkish, spine ~0.5-2 mm long, brown, tips paler, flesh brown, stipe 26-63 mm long, 5-20 mm thick, more or less equal, tough but brittle, brown, basal mycelium bright white. odor sweet, spicy, pleasant, (like potpourri), taste indistinct [JAC] H. rigidum
