Public Note:
[NS] At esge of grassy area near parking lot, Amanits muscaria in area, under Silver and Mountain beech. Cap 31-57 mm acorss, stipe 32-61 mm long, 7-14 mm thick, pores not staining, basal mycelium bright yellow, flesh bright yellow in stipe base, ochre tan in cap, darkening when cut. Odor indistinct, taste very peppery. [JAC] this is C. piperatus and not the taxon labelled C. piperatoides.
