Public Note:
[GS] Growing in soil at the base of a rotting stump in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps to 18 mm across. [JAC] needs micro details. This should be E.melanocephalum, being near sequences of E. chalybaeum, but a Horak sequence of that is elsewhere. Cap convex, perhaps slighlty depressed. Gill edge concolourous and gills subdecurrent. Spores angled. CC present. clavate. 4-spored. Hyphae unclamped. Keys to E. perconfusum but does not have the very large CC. Not to the melanocephalum groups because of the absence of a dark gill edge, and stature.
