Public Note:
[NS] Clavulina 'dense cristata-like'. Scattered in soil near decaying log under Beech. Crown crowded, dense, 20-49mm across. Multiple fused stems at base. No odor taste mild. [JAC] spores 8.5x 5.7, with cystidia, septate. Doesn't key in Petersen. Looks like cristat var. NZ. If so then chars of cystidia and septation are poor. See also 14877. Yes, confirmed.
