Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Growing on soil in a native forest remnant. Caps to 40 mm across, yellowish-cream with pink tinges, scales on the surface especially nearer the margins. Gills pale yellow, crowded, free of the stem. Stems smooth and yellowish near the apex, whiter and rough/scaly lower down. drying darker if left in fridge. [JAC] With distinctly yellow gills and flesh. This was a surprise when I looked at the micro details. It has clamped hyphae and dextrinoid spores and is obviously a member of the stenosporus group of Lepiota (spores truncated at one end). It must have some relationship to things called L. citrophylla/xanthophylla/rubella. Not one I've seen before. NH4OH on cap reddish on brown fibrils.
