Specimen notes
Public Note:
A137. Gills cream, stem flushed pink. Cap dark magenta. Finely velutinate/wrinkled towards centre. Taste mild. Cap peeling 1/5-1/2. Flesh pink under peel. Young caps sticky when wet. Stem stuffed. Frb very firm. Cap hairs with uninflated basal cells and < 150um long. This keys to subvinosa. This is not R. macrocystidiata (macro looks like it). Sequence says wilsonii, so it is not just dark green and can be with beech. This means it needs to be carefully distinguished from R. subvinosa, for which we have reliable Auckland collections.
