Specimen notes
Public Note:
[WMD] This species is quite variable in appearance from a convex quite stout cap to more conical with striations and the cap may also be flat. The cap is dark brown (even darker in the centre) and is paler at the margin. The gills are creamy with an emarginate attachment to the stipe (pulling away to appear freeish). The stipe is creamy towards the apex and brown below this with a 'powdery' coating. Under totara. [JAC] Same as 14649. Looks like it should be protheliaceae but sequence says Mycenella. It has globose apiculate spores which are granular when immature. 4-spored. Trama clamped and inflated. Cheilocystidia lageniform and present on lamellar face away from edge but decreasing in density. No tissue amyloid or dextrinoid. Caulocystidia like cheilocystidia. Pileipellis an intrwiven clamped cutis of broad hyphae, some with pale brown plasmatic content. Pilocystidia short and filiform.
