Public Note:
[PL] uncommon. Seen in a few places always as the bases of steep clay bank in dense stand of rawirinui (Kunzea robusta) and tanekaha (Phyllocladus trichomanoides), in moist but not waterlogged, deeply shaded throughout the day sites. Fruiting body coriaceous, firm not delicate. [JAC] The spores are tuberculate. NZ use of S. angulospora is incorrect
