Specimen notes
Public Note:
[PdL] Locally common. Noted only in open Cladonia covered ground under sparse rawiri (Kunzea linearis), mingimingi (Leptecophylla juniperina) shrubland. Fruiting bodies mostly solitary - as seen here - brown. Pielus upper surface brown to red-brown with scattered paler yellow-brown scales. Gills brown. Stipe brown tapering toward pileus, ring present. [JAC] with convincing pointed scales at stipe base and yet a sequence says this is D. maculata. So what does sequenced material of D. gunnii look like? Material in PDD also does not have scales. D. maculata is said to have smoother spores than D. gunnii
