Specimen notes
Public Note:
Pinkish. Fleshy soft. No smell. KOH no reaction. 2 and 4-spored. Pores about 5 per mm. Spores very variable. length=4.8-6.6µm (µ=5.6, σ=0.44), width=2.7-3.9µm (µ=3.3, σ=0.32), Q=1.4-2.2µm (µ=1.74, σ=0.21), n=25. F. lilalacino-gilva and F. feei are currently inadequately circumscribed to allow distinction (McMullan-Fisher Fungimap newsletter 47), although sequence data indicates at least two species (including F. cupreorosea). F. feei is recorded with a much broader host range then F. lilacinogilva. Spore size and host suggest this is F. feei. Recent paper erects Rhodofomitopsis and provides species key but adopts traditional separators. Sequences not released Apr. 2016.
