Specimen notes
Public Note:
A338. 4-spored. Clamp connections on hyphae present. Spores smooth, globose. Clavulinopsis. C. spiralis ss RHP which is implied to have bright yellow simple clubs and globose spores. That doesn't agree with other accounts indicating a cream species (but protologue says yellow). In addition C. amoena is described by RHP with elongate spores (from the type), but with globose spores elsewhere. I will follow Petersen's NZ concept for C. spiralis. It seems to have occasional sclerified basidia.
