Hymenophore loculate, chambers 0.5-1mm, circular to oblong, with pale trammal plates and sienna spore deposit. Gleba free from stipe for almost entire length, and attachment fragile, covered in thin white veil. Stipe central, 30–50 mm tall, 10–12 mm thick, with abruptly enlarged base, solid, veilar remnants a few whispy fragments on stipe base. Basidiospores sienna ellipsoid, length=10.4–13.1µm (µ=11.6, σ=0.68), width=7.5–9.4µm (µ=8.3, σ=0.48), Q=1.2–1.6µm (µ=1.39, σ=0.09), n=30. moderately verrucose, 2 & (mainly) 4-spored. Pileipellis comprising two layers. Epicutis about 60 µm deep, of irregular, loosely arranged, branched, thin-walled, hyaline hyphae without encrusting pigment, 4um diam., clamps rare, terminal cells frequently minutely lobed.
