Specimen notes
Public Note:
was this with tea-tree or beech! For McNabb violaceiporus adnate, with beech, ampullaceous septate cystidia. Viscidus excavated, with tea-tree, cystidia not ampullaceous. Nothofagi excavate with beech, cystidia? Sequences suggest one species with beech and one with tea-tree, except tea-tree version not excavated and beech version is. If excavated pores is good separating feature then and viscida=nothofagi and violaciipora different, and both with both hosts but not apparent in sequences yet. Or, excavate not a good character and then violaceipora=nothofagi and viscida different and host relation strict. Not convinced by McNabb's cystidia description. Clive's CSAK179 has excavated pores and my 12838 does not. This, and the sequences suggests that character is not good. Thus I believe the species with tea-tree is viscida. The species with beech is violaceiporus and nothofagi is a later synonym
