Public Note:
under spruce, kunzea and nothofagus. Cuphocybe look to cap. With distinct ring zone. Taste bitter. cap a bit brown in KOH. With basal white rhizoids. With obvious chrysocystidia which are pale yellow in water but darken considerably in KOH. Spores phaseoliform, without germ pore. No cheilocystidia seen. 4-spored. length=6.2-7.5µm (µ=6.8, σ=0.32), width=3.4-4.4µm (µ=3.7, σ=0.22), Q=1.7-2.0µm (µ=1.83, σ=0.10), n=20. Why no germ pore? Sequence identical to type of P. chrysmoides.
