Public Note:
blotched reddish-brown cap 23mm diam, pale stipe, scabrous with blackening gills, spaced, decurrent, branching, grey. Stipe 2.5 x 33mm depth of cap 12mm when fresh. [KW] spores dark brown/black. Material drying black. Gills not intervenose or dividing. Cap dry. Has large pleuro and cheilocystidia, faintly pigmented, thick-walled, to 120 x 20um. Exuding brown resin into melzers, not into KOH. Cap with minority of pigmented hyhae in melzers and KOH. 4-spored. Cap microscopically gelatinised. No clamps. [JAC]
