Public Note:
[PL] cap convex with downturn edge and umbo cracking, remainder fibrillose, dark grey brown. 30-35mm diam. Gills sinnuate, solid buff grey. stipe cylindrical 70mm x 12mm white, red brown fibrous floccules. ring zone near apex. [jac] currently just one collection and no photo? with lamellulae in series of 3. Cap with inflated cutis with ascending elements (fibres) with pale brown/hyaline content. Subcutis a tight cutis of thick-walled hyphae (difficult to see) with minute brown granules. All unclamped. Stpitipellis of thick walled hyphae, 10um, with weak extracellular pigment, covered with fibrils like cap. 4-spored. without cheilocystidia. Some basidia with brown garnules (in KOH). Basidia without basal clamp. 4-spored. Fruitbody has relatively few mature spores and is perhaps not fully developed (single fruitbody in collection). spores length=7.4-9.1µm (µ=8.2, σ=0.49), width=5.5-7.3µm (µ=6.4, σ=0.48), Q=1.1-1.5µm (µ=1.29, σ=0.09), n=20
Public Note:
Unfortunately a purported phot of this, with numerous gery fruitbodies, is incompatible with another collection with supposedly the same sequence jac14138. This material needs re-examination to see if it conforms with the PL description/photo and perhaps re-sequence.
