"cap 25-50 mm, orange base" Material dried tan. Gills have darker band towards edge in dried material - like P. djamor. Stem with tick-walled hyphae, slightly dextrinoid towards base. clamped. Rest of tissue not amyloid or dextrinoid. Stem has orange basal pad.Cap a gelatinised cutis, without ornamentation. With oleiferous hyphae in gill. 4- spored. Cheilocystidia with relatively small number of discreet seulae. Gill tissue not easy to separate. Spores length=8.1–9.7µm (µ=9.0, σ=0.5), width=4.2–5.1µm (µ=4.8, σ=0.3), Q=1.8–1.9µm (µ=1.9, σ=0.1), n=7. Relationship with M. palmivora?
