Specimen notes
Public Note:
[PL] cap: centrally depressed, pale brown, 8D6 at margin, dark brown 8F6-4 at centre, radially fibrillose, fibres dark, some forming scales. Cap diam 55mm, stem 40mm x 15mm. Gills sinuate, golden yellow, no lamellulae. Stipe: clavate, yellow + brown, with fibrillose dark brown covering and sheathing ring at base. Spores 5-6 x 4-5.5um. Flesh white. PP a cutis, thick-walled hyphae 5-9um, clamps, external pigment. [JAC] spores distinctly amyloid. Clamps confirmed. some basidioles with brown granulose (purple in KOH) content. Same with immature spors. Cap hyphae broad, with pale brown plasmatic content and occasional dark brown granules. No encrustation in Melzers. Stipe smooth, without caulocystidia. Tissue exuding purple pigment into KOH. Cheilocystidia variable in shape and unequally occuring on gill edge. Immature spores on basidia purple in KOH. Pellis an intertwined cutis with trichodermal surface hyphae. These also with purple content in KOH. spores length=7.2-8.7µm (µ=7.8, σ=0.33), width=4.9-5.9µm (µ=5.4, σ=0.24), Q=1.3-1.6µm (µ=1.44, σ=0.07), n=22
