Specimen notes
Public Note:
[JAC] subcutis white. DCY SV=ve very clearly. Cutis a trichoderm of cystidia arising from spherical cells (often in chains) in a layer 50um deep, over a layer of horizontal hyphae 200um and then sphaerocysts. Cuticle of stem a layer of horizontal filamentous hyphae over sphaerocysts, with very few cystida, like cap, in filamentous layer, not arising from inflated hyphae. Cap cystidia of two kinds, long and thin, septate, and shorter like gill macrocystidia. Longer ones to 80um long (although intermediates between short and long exist). Not much difference between cheilo and pleurocystidia, perhaps more pleuro with capitate apex. Numerous. Spores length=6.8-8.2µm (µ=7.4, σ=0.31), width=5.1-6.4µm (µ=5.9, σ=0.29), Q=1.2-1.4µm (µ=1.26, σ=0.07), n=20. Ornamentation to 1.3um.
