Other Details:
The mushrooms were found on a island in the sounds on private land. The owner of the land stated he harvested 500 grams plus per day for a while off this tree and they tasted beautiful. He also stated from the time they started pinning in just two days the mushrooms were mature. I have successfully cloned this. I have been following Pleurotus observations and cloning many different NZ varieties from the wild. This is the most aggressive strain I have ever seen. Will make new observations when growing it in captivity. It may have killed this tree the owner says it was the oldest tree on the island.
