5 different fungi suspected to be causal agents of Dieback disease (new disease on oil palm) were identified and confirmed based on the morphological identification, the isolates are suspected to be of different genera but closely related. The isolates were identified from 22 oil palm plot/plantation and were grouped into 5 groups. Group 2 (Gp.2) consist of isolates from palm plot: "K31-1, K33-2 and K34-2"
Growth Conditions:
7 days on PDA and/or Oat meal agar at 28oC +/- 1oC.
Substrate: Sawdust, rice bran and husk, sorghum, millet and maize
