Culture notes
Characterised as:
Conidia dark in mass. to 9um x 2um. Sequences, close, but not identical to the Hebe isolate of Phaeophleospora atkinsonii, but the literature says the conidia are 25-45um long and here they are much smaller and not septate. This group is not Phaeophleospora sensu stricto, as pointed out by Crous Phylogenetic lineages in the capnodiales. Perhaps P. atkinsonii needs a transfer to Kirramyces? Sydow's teleomorphic M. coacervata could be a Terratosphaeria and this is the anamoprh.
