Culture notes
Note:
Morphologically forming a leaf spot typical of Mycophaerella metrosideri. Whether or not the NZ species matches that from the Hawaiian type locvality is not known. ITS sequence from this culture shows it to be close to Mycodiella eucalypti, and very similar to EU301094 (ex MUCC 574) ex Eucalyptus ex northern Australia. ITS sequences are not sufficient to distinguish these fungi at the species level.
